Dream
by Sheri Gabbert
Somewhere between deep breathing
and the sound of fan blades
buzzing like a drowsy bee drunk
on too much sunflower,
I heard the hint of your name,
the sound of your face brushing
against my lips as I tucked you into bed.
Who sang who the lullaby?
Whose hand did the holding,
yours or mine? And when did we let go?
